Explanations:Visakhapatnam Port Trust is a significant maritime facility located in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India. It is situated on the eastern coast of the country, which is also known as the Bay of Bengal coast. The eastern coast of India is home to several important ports and cities, including Kolkata in the north and Chennai in the south.
Understanding the geographical layout of the eastern coast of India is crucial to correctly identifying the location of Visakhapatnam Port Trust. The eastern coast stretches from the northernmost point at the mouth of the Ganges River near Kolkata to the southernmost point at Kanyakumari, where the Bay of Bengal meets the Arabian Sea. Along this coast, several major cities and ports are located, including Visakhapatnam, which is strategically positioned between Kolkata and Chennai.
Visakhapatnam is a major port city and is known for its deep-water harbor, which makes it an important center for maritime trade and commerce. The port is also a significant industrial hub, with several major industries and manufacturing units located nearby. The location of Visakhapatnam between Kolkata and Chennai makes it a key point for the transportation of goods and materials along the eastern coast of India.
It is important to note that the western coast of India, which includes cities like Mumbai and Goa, is geographically distinct from the eastern coast. The western coast is along the Arabian Sea, while the eastern coast is along the Bay of Bengal. Therefore, options that mention cities on the western coast, such as Mumbai and Goa, are incorrect in the context of Visakhapatnam's location.
In summary, Visakhapatnam Port Trust is located on the eastern coast of India, between the major cities of Kolkata and Chennai. This geographical positioning is crucial for understanding the strategic importance of the port in the context of maritime trade and transportation in the region.
