Explanations:The question pertains to the establishment of a turtle rehabilitation center in the state of Bihar, India. The center was set up in January 2020 in Bhagalpur forest, which is known for its conservation efforts and biodiversity. The center is designed to provide shelter for more than 500 turtles and is spread over an area of half a hectare.
Bihar, located in the eastern part of India, is home to various wildlife conservation projects aimed at protecting endangered species. The turtle rehabilitation center in Bhagalpur forest is one such initiative. Bhagalpur is a district in Bihar known for its rich biodiversity and conservation efforts. The forest area in Bhagalpur provides a suitable habitat for turtles and other wildlife, making it an ideal location for such a center.
The establishment of the turtle rehabilitation center in Bhagalpur forest is part of broader conservation efforts in the state. These efforts are crucial for the protection and preservation of various species, including turtles, which are often threatened by habitat loss, pollution, and other human activities. The center not only provides a safe environment for the turtles but also contributes to the overall conservation of the ecosystem in the region.
It is important to note that the location of the turtle rehabilitation center is specific to Bhagalpur forest, and not to other cities or districts in Bihar such as Patna, Gaya, or Purnia. These other locations, while significant in their own right, are not associated with this particular conservation project.
Understanding the geographical context and the specific conservation efforts in different parts of Bihar is essential for answering questions related to wildlife conservation and biodiversity in the state. This knowledge is particularly relevant for students preparing for competitive examinations such as the UPSC, SSC, and State PSC, where questions on geography and environmental conservation are common.
