Explanations:The International Emmy Awards are prestigious awards that recognize excellence in television programming from around the world. These awards are organized by the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences and are held annually. The awards are divided into various categories, including drama series, comedy series, and documentary series, among others.
In 2020, the 48th International Emmy Awards were held, and the Indian web series "Delhi Crime" won the award in the 'drama series' category. "Delhi Crime" is a web series that was produced by Amazon Prime Video and aired in 2019. The series is based on the true story of the 2012 Delhi gang rape case and the subsequent investigation. The series gained significant attention for its realistic portrayal of the crime and the efforts of the police to solve the case.
The series was directed by Sujoy Ghosh and starred Shefali Shah, Adil Hussain, and Rajesh Tailang. It was praised for its strong performances, realistic depiction of the crime, and the portrayal of the challenges faced by the police in solving the case. The series was also noted for its sensitive handling of the subject matter and its contribution to raising awareness about the issue of violence against women.
It is important to note that while "Delhi Crime" won the International Emmy Award in the 'drama series' category, other Indian web series such as "Breathe," "Special Ops.," and "The Family Man" have also gained recognition for their quality and storytelling.
