Explanations:The Bangalore Amateur Radio Club (B.A.R.C.) is a significant institution in the history of amateur radio in India. It was established in 1959, making it the oldest radio club in the country. The club has played a vital role in promoting amateur radio communication and fostering a community of enthusiasts in Karnataka and beyond.
Amateur radio, also known as ham radio, is a popular hobby and service that uses designated radio frequencies for non-commercial exchange of messages, wireless experimentation, self-training, and emergency communication. The establishment of B.A.R.C. in 1959 marked the beginning of a dedicated community of amateur radio enthusiasts in Bangalore, who have since contributed to the development and advancement of radio communication in India.
The year 1959 is significant because it represents a period of growth and development in the field of amateur radio in India. Prior to this, amateur radio activities were less organized and lacked a formal structure. The establishment of B.A.R.C. provided a platform for enthusiasts to come together, share knowledge, and collaborate on various radio-related projects.
Understanding the historical context of the establishment of B.A.R.C. is important for students preparing for competitive examinations, as it is a part of the general knowledge and state-specific knowledge required for various exams such as UPSC, SSC, Bank PO, and State PSC. The correct year, 1959, is a key fact that should be remembered for such examinations.
It is important to note that while 1959 is the correct year for the establishment of B.A.R.C., other years mentioned in the options (1957, 1929, and 1977) are not associated with the club's founding. These years might be confused with other significant events in the history of radio in India, but they do not pertain to the establishment of B.A.R.C.
